2016年3月全球科技界關注焦點之一：圍棋九段棋手李世石對弈人工智慧AlphaGo，五局對戰結果，AlphaGo以四勝一敗戰績打敗人類棋王。這是繼1997年人工智慧Deep Blue打敗西洋棋世界冠軍卡斯巴羅夫之後，人工智慧又一次戰勝人腦，說明AlphaGo採用的人工智慧運算系統已有突破性進展。
就人工智慧國際大廠重要技術項目布局分析，專利主要集中在自然語言處理，其次依序為專家系統、神經網路、模糊邏輯、遺傳演算法、機器學習。人工智慧可說是物聯網架構下促使電子資訊產品蛻變為智慧連網產品的關鍵推手，像是智慧車、智慧家電、智慧管家、智慧寵物、智慧行動電話等，都需要人工智慧運算系統的導入，才得以呈現智慧化功能。

Methods, systems, and apparatus, including computer programs encoded on computer storage media, for generating parse trees for input text segments. One of the methods includes obtaining an input text segment, processing the input text segment using a first long short term memory (LSTM) neural network to convert the input text segment into an alternative representation for the input text segment, and processing the alternative representation for the input text segment using a second LSTM neural network to generate a linearized representation of a parse tree for the input text segment.

IBM 23年蟬聯在美取得最多專利數量

事：2015年在美取得7,355項專利(數量位居全美之冠)，且是第23年蟬聯寶座。

物：IBM營收有6％投入研發，而去年取得的7,355項專利中有超過2,000項屬於認知運算與雲端平台領域。

摘要：

根據專利資料庫公司IFI Claims公布的最新統計，去年美國專利商標局（USPTO）一共核發29.8萬項功能性專利，較前年數量減少1％，是2007年以來首度下滑。除了IBM之外，2015年前10大排名的企業包括三星電子、佳能、高通、谷歌、樂金電子（LG）及英特爾。但微軟名次下滑至第10名，因微軟去年功能性專利數量減少31％。其中，IFI Claims資深分析師凱帝（Larry Cady）表示：「與其將所有專利歸在同一個立案公司旗下，近來有不少企業選擇將專利分散到多個獨立公司，這也是微軟及Panasonic去年專利數量大幅減少的主因。」蘋果去年名次維持在第11名，而亞馬遜科技名次從前年的第50名躍升至去年的第26名。

ABSTRACT

A system and method for reducing service latency includes dividing an information technology service for a customer into an infrastructure management service and a data management service. Data associated with the information technology service is stored in a backup memory. A set of infrastructure images related to the information technology service is stored at a cloud service provider. The infrastructure images are updated with software updates and hardware updates, as needed, and the data associated with the information technology service is updated through backup and restore mechanisms. The set of infrastructure images that have been updated with data with latest updates are started for recovery, continuity, testing, etc.
